New Delhi: The 50th Annual Convention of the Sports Journalists Federation of India (SJFI) was inaugurated today at the Major Dhyan Chand Hockey Stadium in New Delhi. The event was officially opened by the Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Raksha Nikhil Khadse, who attended as the chief guest.
The convention, which will continue for four days, will feature various sports competitions every day, along with panel discussions each evening involving renowned sportspersons.
This year, SJFI is celebrating its Golden Jubilee.
During today’s program, the guests also released the newsletter “Delhi Rocks,” the JK Bose T20 Trophy, and the AC Bali TT Trophy.
Five members from the Odisha Sports Journalists Association (OSJA) are participating in the convention. They are:
- President: Sandeep Mishra
- Secretary: Suresh Swain
- Members: Bimal Kumar Raul, Dipti Ranjan Samal, and Tushar Senapati
Tomorrow morning, the first T20 cricket match will be played between the Eastern Zone and Southern Zone teams.
At today’s inaugural ceremony, the President and Secretary of SJFI, members of the organizing Delhi Sports Journalists Association, and representatives from 18 state associations were present.
