Daughter of a Mason Becomes a National Record Holder in High Jump

Despite her father working as a mason, his daughter, Pooja, continues to set records one after another. Pooja, an Indian athlete, recently won a gold medal in high jump at the Junior Athletics Championship held in Bhubaneswar. She achieved this milestone with a jump of 1.82 meters, securing the gold medal and creating a national record in her name. Later, she broke her own record by achieving a jump of 1.83 meters. Although she attempted 1.85 meters today, a back injury prevented her from succeeding.

Coming from a financially disadvantaged family, Pooja’s sports career has been filled with challenges. However, her father has supported her through all hardships. During her initial training, Pooja caught her coach’s attention, and she was selected for her first event. In her first attempt, she managed to jump 93 centimeters.

Pooja credits her success to her family, especially her father, whose unwavering support has been instrumental in her journey.
