Bumrah Ruled Out of Champions Trophy – Here’s Why

India had announced its squad for the Champions Trophy, but the BCCI has now made some changes. Star Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah will not be part of the upcoming Champions Trophy due to injury. In his place, Harshit Rana has been included in the squad.

This is not the first time Bumrah has missed an ICC event due to injury. Previously, he was ruled out of the 2022 T20 World Cup as well. His absence is a big blow to the Indian team. Now, the big question is—can Harshit Rana fill Bumrah’s shoes?

Bumrah is not the only player to be dropped from the squad. Yashasvi Jaiswal has also been left out by the selectors. Instead, the selectors have shown more trust in Varun Chakravarthy, considering his performance in the T20 series against England.

Jaiswal was initially selected for the Champions Trophy based on his performance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. However, he has now been placed on the reserve list. If needed, he will be called to Dubai as a backup player.
