Rules Changed for IPL 2025, Bowlers Now at an Advantage

IPL 2025 is set to begin from March 22. However, before that, the BCCI held a meeting with all the team captains. This meeting took place at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai. During this meeting, several changes to IPL rules were discussed and decided upon. One of the major decisions was regarding bowlers.

The BCCI has lifted the ban on the use of saliva on the ball. Now, bowlers will be allowed to use saliva on the ball during the match. Along with this, some other rules have also been revised.

According to a report by Cricbuzz, several important decisions were taken in the meeting. The main highlight was the relaxation of the ban on saliva use. Previously, the BCCI had imposed this restriction due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The ICC had also enforced a similar ban. But now, the rule has been changed.

Indian pacer Mohammed Shami had reportedly urged officials to lift the ban on saliva usage, and now that request has been fulfilled.
