Century in ICC Final
First South African player to join the elite list
South Africa is on the verge of victory in the ICC World Test Championship Final. They need just 69 more runs to win. If South Africa manages to win this match, it will be their first-ever ICC trophy. Despite having made a name for themselves in world cricket, the team has never won an ICC trophy. Although they’ve reached the finals in several events, they have never been able to lift the trophy.
In the first innings, Australia had scored 212 runs, while South Africa could only manage 138. However, in the second innings, South Africa restricted Australia to just 207 runs. So far, South Africa has scored 213 runs, with a crucial century (100 runs) from Markram playing a key role. Markram remains unbeaten on 102 runs, while captain Temba Bavuma has scored 65 runs off 121 balls before getting out.
The most important point is that, looking at recent series—especially in Test cricket—South Africa has been performing well under the leadership of captain Temba Bavuma.
