After the New Zealand series, Virat Kohli has dropped significantly

Indian team’s senior batsman Virat Kohli faced a setback in the ICC Test batting rankings. Kohli’s bat failed to deliver during the Test series against New Zealand. As a result, in the batting rankings released by ICC on Wednesday, Virat has fallen by eight places. In the three Tests against New Zealand, Kohli managed to score only 93 runs, causing him to drop to the 22nd spot in the ICC batting rankings.

Both Virat and Indian team captain Rohit Sharma struggled in the Test series against New Zealand. This led New Zealand to claim a historic victory, sweeping India 3-0 in the series. Rohit Sharma also dropped two spots and now stands at the 26th position in the rankings.

Currently, England’s Joe Root holds the top spot in the batting rankings after scoring a double century against Pakistan. He is followed by Kane Williamson, Harry Brook, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Steve Smith.

India’s Rishabh Pant, who fought hard in each match against New Zealand, saw an improvement in his ranking. He moved up five places and now ranks 6th.
