New Delhi: Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya has fulfilled a promise he made a few months ago to Indian women’s cricketer Kashvee Gautam. During the Women’s Premier League (WPL), 21-year-old Kashvee, who was playing for Gujarat Giants, met Hardik. During their conversation, her teammates told Hardik that Kashvee is a big fan of his and had written “HP33” (Hardik Pandya 33) on her bat. This touched Hardik’s heart, and he had promised to gift her a 1100-gram bat.
On Sunday, before the match against Delhi Capitals, Hardik gave Kashvee the promised bat.
In a video shared during the bat presentation, Hardik can be heard saying:
“Congratulations on the first call-up. Here, take this. If you don’t like it, return it. Play and enjoy. Stay well and play for India.”
The young all-rounder Kashvee earned her maiden call-up to the Indian ODI team after a stellar performance in the WPL. In the WPL, she played 9 matches, took 11 wickets at an economy of 6.45, and was the leading wicket-taker for Gujarat. She also contributed with some useful batting performances.
