Indian women’s cricket team star Smriti Mandhana has achieved a remarkable milestone. The ICC has announced Mandhana as the winner of the Women’s ODI Cricketer of the Year award for 2024. This prestigious title marks a historic achievement in her career, as Mandhana has now claimed this honor for the second time. She becomes only the second female cricketer to win this award twice.
Mandhana first won the Women’s ODI Cricketer of the Year award in 2018. Now, her stellar performance in 2024 has earned her the title once again. In doing so, she follows in the footsteps of New Zealand cricketer Suzie Bates, who previously won the award twice in 2013 and 2016.
The year 2024 was highly successful for Mandhana. She played 13 ODIs and amassed a total of 747 runs, showcasing her exceptional form and consistency throughout the year.
